South Loop Montessori School Tour!

I recently went and toured the South Loop Montessori School.

I toured their school because they are really close to my work, have great Yelp reviews, and I’m interested in the Montessori method. Also, the youngest age they accept is two years old which is appealing to me.
Here’s a list of points that I really appreciated about the school:
-Parking Drop Off Location was in a nice, quiet street, so you don’t feel rushed or have to double park like at some places.
-Hidden - you don’t really know there’s a school there. Which in my mind is nice for security reasons.
-Growing - they’re expanding and will grow with the students. They opened 5-6 years ago so they are opening up new classroom age ranges to accommodate those students, Mahdi Dadrass, the Co-Founder, said the parents want to stay with the school, which makes sense.

-Consistency - all the teachers have been with them since they started, which I think shows a lot about how they treat their staff.
-Interaction - the kids from different classrooms interact with one another and have times when they “teach” each other.

-Outdoors - their own personal outdoor space with gardening - the kids learn how to grow, pick and then prepare the food to eat for meals from the garden

-Concerned - Mahdi and his cofounder were both very kind and attentive while giving me the tour and answering my questions.
-Qualified - Mahdi was trained at one of the best montessori schools

-Thoughtful - the classrooms seem very intentional and thought out with what type of furniture and supplies were used.

-Flexible - They have a pick-up time at 12:30 if you would prefer your child to nap at home
-Affordable - it’s just as much as a typical nanny, and they would have the benefits of interaction with other kids and structure of the school.

While I was peeking into the younger classroom I observed a 2 year old who played with a craft and then cleaned it up on her own. I was floored, she was sweeping up glitter into a dustpan!
Ultimately their time offerings didn’t work with my schedule and needs but if it did I would have seriously considered pursuing applying! The only other downside was that the rooms seemed a little small, but I think that’s generally the case for most childcare facilities, especially given the location.

Spots go fast - so if you’re interested, be sure to act quickly!
